Abstracts

  • 10:00 Opening keynote - by Michael Beal

    To be announced

  • 10:30 Hybrid integration and the power of Azure services - by Jon Fancey

This high-powered and interactive presentation shows what can be done with hybrid integration and the power of Azure services. The topics covered include Microsoft BizTalk on-premises, Microsoft Azure Logic Apps, and API Management. Jon’s experience as a Microsoft integration partner, and now at Microsoft HQ, enables him to deliver both great demos and interesting real-life stories from the field.

  • 11:15 Cloud integration: what's in it for you? - by Toon Vanhoutte & Massimo Crippa

This session focuses on the great opportunities that cloud integration brings to your business. Common challenges and pitfalls for hybrid messaging-based and API-based integration are discussed. Next to that, Codit's added-value approach to hybrid integration is presented, which combines a solid foundation of 15 years integration experience with an innovative and rapidly moving Azure cloud platform.

  • 12:00 Digital Transformation at Brussels Airlines - by Olivier Plaitin

For all operations to run smoothly, it was crucial that the new Passenger Server System of Brussels Airlines shares information with other applications. Olivier will explain how integration ensures that all systems, employees and customers get the information they need and why API Management was needed to meet the requirements in Brussels Airlines' SLA. Discover how this deeply embedded integration is central to Brussels Airlines' digital transformation.

  • 13:45 Event-Driven Serverless Architecture - the next big thing in the cloud - by Clemens Vasters

Serverless is the newest trend in cloud computing and reflects a change in how applications are hosted. Modularization of solutions has led to the notion of Microservices, and the ‘serverless’ idea allows for hosting such services on top of infrastructure abstractions that eliminate many of the concerns of the common hosting model where applications are explicitly concerned about their hosts and lifetimes. Event-Driven Architecture concepts are ideal to interconnect these ‘serverless’ services and this session will shed light on these trends and usage scenarios.

  • 14:30 The Codit Azure/IoT vision - by Sam Vanhoutte & Glenn Colpaert

    To be announced

  • 15:35 NxtPort: a data utility platform that unlocks the potential of the Port of Antwerp - by Hans Verbeeck

In this session, Hans Verbeeck will introduce the NxtPort data sharing platform in which Microsoft Azure PaaS services play an important role. This platform will enable actors in this sector to share data with the community instead of B2B. This will result in efficiency gains by reducing waiting times, reducing errors introduced by duplicate data entry and reducing costs by avoiding unnecessary point to point integrations.  Apart from this transactional EDI to API business, NxtPort is also investing in extending the platform to port related IoT data and datasets to further enrich the network of data points. Hans will talk about the key opportunities and challenges and about the technology choices NxtPort is making.

  • 16:00 The role of integration in your cloud-native transformation - by Richard Seroter

In the race to deliver software faster, integration work often becomes a bottleneck. What does it mean to do "cloud-native integration" and how would you introduce that into your organization? In this talk, Richard takes a look at six characteristics of cloud-native integration and demonstrates why they matter to your success.
